historic charm and attentive service
attentive staff sensational staff comfortable feeling
the staff was sensational. my daughter injured her toe. everyone went out of their way to look after her and. shiroman cheered my daughter up. she drew a picture of him with the title 'my friend shiroman'.
the room we were allocated was poorly designed. it had little to no natural light and was designed in an appalling manner with the bedroom upstairs on a mezzanine level. the bathroom was in the lounge area downstairs.
Rooms

the admiral cheng ho suite had colonial features. the historic setting felt gorgeous. i loved every second of our stay in this spacious room, it really was amazing.
Facilities
10/10
the lobby and pool are lovely. it is especially nice to swim in the pool in the afternoon. the water is warm from the sun, but the area is shaded.
Dining

breakfast had many options and was very delicious. it was also well presented, so i really enjoyed my meal. the restaurant offered local and international dishes, and they all seemed fresh.

some issues during stay
poor design flooded bathroom
The room i received had very little natural light because there were no windows. the design was poor. The bedroom was upstairs, on a mezzanine, and the bathroom was downstairs, in the lounge area. i got moved to another room, but it only had the bed for sitting, and the bathroom flooded when using the shower. the rooms were expensive!

a amazing stay
walking map arak cocktail clean pool
i found the staff helpful and professional. they provided a self-guided walking map, a thoughtful touch for exploring. the arak gunpowder cocktail at the bar was a highlight. the pool remained clean and provided needed refreshment after a hot day.
the hotel management refused to offer any refund when i needed to check out early. i found this policy particularly unreasonable. they retained the entire amount for the remaining nights.
Rooms
9/10
the room included colonial features and beautiful spaciousness. the historic setting added considerable charm. i noticed pleasant scents from provided toiletries. the furniture in my room also enhanced the heritage feel.
Service
